Best platform for an e-commerce website?
Looking for recommendations on an e-commerce platform. I have heard the big players described almost unanimously as "nightmares to work with, and god forbid you should need to do something there's not a template for". They're also really ugly, and usually primitive. I don't care what it runs on. Right now I'm leaning towards "Substruct" but I'm worried it might be too much in its infancy (not to mention the difficulty in getting hosting for RoR). I also find their shopping basket annoying.

What's the best e-commerce platform/service provider out there?
Hi, I'm thinking of selling my store's merchandise online, but I'm not going to do it on e-bay or anywhere like that. I'm building my own website, or rather will have someone build it. But I'm clueless as to where to start, I know I need an e-commerce platform, but where do I get a really good one; with full features and a small price tag?
And should I entrust everything to a single company to handle (web design/ graphics/ hosting etc.) in addition to the e-com system, or should I just hire different companies for each task? Please give any kind of tips that you think will be helpful, I would really appreciate it.

However, I still feel I haven't found an answer. I tried making a list and comparing prices and features, but I spent days doing that, and still didn't come any closer to making a decision. That is why I need someone to tell me; which are the to most successful, most widely used systems? I'm looking for the safe bet, well-known companies, the Gmail-Yahoo-Hotmail of the e-commerce world.

Legitimate job or not?
I am currently seeking employment and have my Resume posted on-line. Today I received the following email:

The Global Business Payments division was created by merging Ruesch International, which was acquired during the year, with Travelex's Commercial Foreign Exchange (CFX) division . CUSTOMER SERVICE POSITION - Guaranteed base salary package: $2,700 for part-time and $4,700 for the full-time position- Daily/Weekly/Monthly payment for job- Pay for Medicine/Dentistay/Home internet and mobile phone- 2 hrs/part-time or 6 hrs/full-time during the day- Available work at home for the part-time position Requirements:- No special education needed, only be to be honest and progressive in work- Positive attitude and willingness to learn- Ability to learn and adapt to a new and changing environment- Proven attention to detail and a sense of urgency- The ability to operate independently and efficiently in time-sensitive environment- Computer and phone- Be 18+ Company provides free training course to cover all aspects of the e-Commerce platform operation and maximization.
The email closed with a company name and ABN (Australian Business Number - required to do business in Australia). I have Googled the company name and come up with a blank, but the ABN is real and belongs to a finance transfer company.
Do Yahooers think this a legitimate job offer or some sort of scam? Should I respond (bearing in mind that I have no intention of handing over any personal details)?
