Software Engineering Help!?
I am extremely interested in computers. I find computer programming very interesting. By computer programming I mean all the coding you do with C, C++. and C#. I would like to be a software engineer because they make more money, but they are also very close to computer programming. So I have a few questions about it....
1. What exactly do Software Engineers do? Do I have the idea of them wrong? Is there anything I'm missing?
2. What classes should I really focus on?
3. What extra classes should I take in Highschool ( My school has a computer programming and web page design class, there might be others)
4.Extra learning outside of school, what will I need to know to be successful?
Thanks!

Will I get into Boston College?? I need answers please!?
Hey I'm wondering if I can get into Boston College. I'm a junior so I have room for improvement as far as GPA goes and I have not taken any SATs or ACTs. I go to school in New York and if there are any other New Yorkers out there you know how much of a pain in the ass Regents are. Here's my course load:
8th Grade (Important Classes): Algebra 2 w/ mastery on Regents.
9th Grade: English 9 Honors, Earth Science, Global & Geo 1 Honors, Studio Art, Spanish 3, Geometry w/ mastery on all Regents. (90's)
10th Grade: Communications, Web Page Design, Global & Geo 2 Honors, English 10 Honors, Spanish 4, Algebra 2/Trig(blah), Biology, Health w/ mastery on all Regents except Trig
11th Grade: AP Chem, AP US, English 11, Pre Calc, Advanced Spanish, French 1, Personal Business & Finance.
Expected Next Year: AP Gov, AP Physics, AP Bio, English 12, College Spanish, French 2, Pre Calc Honors.
I've always been a diligent student and community service is a big part of my life. I serve on the student board of our local volunteer ambulance organization and I have over 150 hours of service at the start of my junior year. I should get between 250-300 by the time I graduate. Also I've been doing soccer and track for 4 years (I suck at sports) and have been involved with my church's youth ministry for almost 10. I also do many co-curriculars like Stage Crew, NHS, Band and the school's Paper.
My GPA(unweighted?): 3.73.
Class Rank: 34 out of 136. But my school is ranked 9th in the state and has abolished class rank for the younger classes.
I KNOW I CAN RAISE MY GPA!! PLEASE GIVE ME ADVICE AND GIVE ME OTHER OPTIONS (CLOSE TO NY)!
Thanks!!
